Virtual Library

About the Virtual Library

The ASHA Convention Virtual Library is our online platform that will provide access to over 1,700 pre-recorded education sessions, plus approximately 1,000 live, virtual poster Q&A sessions, as well as interactive exhibitor profiles. All sessions in the Virtual Library are new, selected by the 2021 Convention Program Committee, and are eligible for continuing education credit. The Virtual Library will be open over an extended 8-day period, from November 15–22, allowing you to learn and explore the exhibitor profiles on your own schedule. Sessions will be available in the Virtual Library until Monday, November 22, 2021, 11:59 p.m., PT.

How to Access the Virtual Library

You may browse the Virtual Library to preview sessions without being registered, but you must be registered to watch on-demand sessions and participate in the live, virtual poster Q&A sessions. You may register for either the full, in-person ASHA Convention in Washington, D.C., which includes access to the Virtual Library, or register at a discounted rate to gain access just to the Virtual Library. (View registration fees or register now.)

Beginning November 15, registrants may access sessions by signing into the Virtual Library platform with the email they used to register and their registration confirmation number.

How to Log In

You will log in to the Virtual Library with the email you used to register and your 6-digit registration confirmation number (not your ASHA account number). Your confirmation number is displayed at the top of the registration confirmation email message you received after registering. If you are attending in person, it is also printed on your badge.

Education Sessions/Posters

Sessions and posters will be available for viewing in the Virtual Library from November 15–22. You will find pre-recorded sessions in a variety of formats:

  • Master classes (2 hours)
  • Oral seminars (1 hour)
  • Technical clinical and technical research sessions (30 minutes)
  • Poster presentations (30 minutes: 15 minutes for viewing poster + 15 minutes for participating in the live, virtual Q&A session)

Each poster presentation pairs a digital poster and 15-minute audio recording with a corresponding 15-minute live, virtual Q&A session that allows you to interact with presenters and other participants over video chat in real-time. The poster Q&A sessions will take place on Thursday, November 18, and Friday, November 19. The Q&A sessions are scheduled at Eastern time. Presenters will be scheduled to be available in 90-minute time blocks. You may log in any time during the scheduled time block but you must participate for 15 minutes to claim continuing education credit.

Session codes for pre-recorded poster presentations and their corresponding live, virtual Q&A sessions will begin with the same four digits to help you find the pairing. The session codes for the pre-recorded poster presentations end in V, and the live Q&A sessions end in L.

For example:
Poster Presentation/Recording: 6000V
Poster Q&A Session: 6000L

(Please note: In-person sessions taking place at the ASHA Convention in Washington, D.C. will NOT be recorded or live-streamed for the Virtual Library.)

Continuing Education Credit

All sessions in the ASHA Convention Virtual Library are eligible for ASHA Continuing Education Credit or Professional Development Hours. With over 1,700 pre-recorded sessions, plus approximately 1000 live, virtual poster Q&A sessions, the Virtual Library offers more online content than it is realistically possible to consume in 8 days. Since you may watch sessions on your own schedule, how much continuing education credit you earn will depend on your time investment. For example, if you spend 2 hours a day watching sessions, you can earn 1.6 ASHA CEUs or 16 PDHs over the 8-day period that the library is open.

On Thursday, November 18 and Friday, November 19, you can earn up to an additional 1.95 ASHA CEUs or 19.5 PDHs just by participating in each of the live, virtual poster Q&A sessions, which allow you to interact in real-time with poster presenters and other registrants. Each poster Q&A session is worth 15 minutes of continuing education credit.

Exhibitor Profiles

Expanded exhibitor profiles in the Virtual Library provide an interactive way to learn more about products and services for the professions. You will find product showcases, demo videos, games and scavenger hunts, exclusive discounts or specials for the ASHA Convention, and more. You can even set up meetings with exhibitors through the Virtual Library if you want to learn more about their products.
