Receptions and Open Houses

There are many ways to add some fun to your professional development at the ASHA Convention—relax and connect with colleagues and friends at these social events.  

Some events may require tickets (as noted); tickets may be purchased or reserved through registration.

Special Interest Group Open House and Networking Meetings

Each of ASHA's 20 SIGs will be hosting a social gathering for professional networking in the SIG’s topic area(s). Hear updates about what the SIGs have accomplished in the last year and enjoy some refreshments. These free events are open to all current SIG affiliates and anyone else who would like to meet SIG volunteers, ask questions about the SIGs, and share ideas. The complete schedule of SIG Open House and Networking Meetings is available on the ASHA website. The list of SIG Open House and Networking Meetings and their locations will be available through the Program Planner and ASHA Convention mobile app in November.

Welcome Reception

Join us in the Exhibit Hall to catch up with friends and colleagues and mingle with exhibitors. This event provides dedicated time to check out the exhibiting companies and socialize before sessions begin on Thursday. Light refreshments will be available. Is this your first ASHA Convention? Come to this popular gathering to get an overview of our annual event and to preview programs and activities slated for the next three days. You'll have an opportunity to meet the ASHA president and Convention co-chairs, as well as other ASHA staff and volunteer representatives who can provide answers and guidance for your first ASHA Convention. The First-Timers' Welcome is also a great opportunity to connect with others attending for the first time. Enjoy light refreshments.

Please join the ASHA Political Action Committee Board in honoring our 2023 ASHA-PAC Excellence in Advocacy Honorees, Tommy Evand and Sandy Reams, at the ASHA-PAC Reception. This special event benefits the ASHA-PAC, which serves as the political voice of the audiology and speech-language pathology professions on Capitol Hill. Tickets are available through registration only to ASHA members for a contribution or may be purchased (as available) at the door.

Join the ASHFoundation at Artists for Humanity for an evening of elegance, charitable endeavors, and entertainment as we celebrate this year's cohort of award recipients!

Following the Awards Ceremony, all audiologists and audiology students attending the ASHA Convention are invited to this free reception sponsored by Duearity, Educational Audiology Association, Hamilton CapTel, HearingLife, Oticon, ReSound, Sound Scouts, and Starkey. Enjoy light appetizers while mingling with your peers.

Open Houses (Academic and Affiliated Organizations)
8:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Various Locations

Many colleges and universities, and affiliated organizations, traditionally hold open houses following the Awards Ceremony on Friday evening. Affiliate groups may request function space for receptions or open houses. The list of open houses and their locations will be available through the Program Planner and ASHA Convention mobile app in November.
