Graduate School Fair/PhD Center

The Hybrid Graduate School Fair (GSF)/PhD Center is your chance to participate in the event that connects institutions with students and clinicians interested in furthering their communication sciences and disorders (CSD) education. The Graduate School Fair (GSF)/PhD Center is a prime opportunity for that connection—virtually, in person, or both!

To take advantage of virtual opportunities, we’ll be hosting a virtual fair in conjunction with the in-person Graduate School Fair in New Orleans but 1 week in advance of the traditional onsite fair. First, engage with representatives from CSD degree programs at the virtual fair. Then, meet one-on-one at the in-person ASHA Convention to build a personal connection!

The GSF/PhD Center is co-sponsored by the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) and ASHA's Academic Affairs team. For more information, contact academicaffairs@asha.org.

This year, the virtual component will begin on Tuesday, November 1, and Wednesday, November 2 with sessions for exhibiting master’s SLP programs. The virtual component will continue on Thursday, November 3 with exhibiting doctoral programs (AuD, SLPD, and PhD). Representatives will be available during their session to speak about master’s, entry-level audiology clinical doctoral programs (AuD), post-entry-level clinical doctoral programs, and research doctoral (PhD) programs.

Then, we will hold our more traditional onsite fair at the 2022 ASHA Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana. Representatives for master’s SLP programs will exhibit on Thursday, November 17, and doctoral programs will exhibit on Friday, November 18.

Institutions can choose to register for one or both onsite days. Institutions that register to exhibit in person will receive a complimentary virtual fair room for each day of in-person registration. Also, institutions will have the option to purchase additional virtual fair rooms for a fee. Mark your calendars for the dates and times!

Students and Clinicians

Interested in a master’s SLP or AuD program? The GSF/PhD Center provides the opportunity for students and academic faculty to learn about one another in an informal atmosphere. Representatives from institutions across the nation will be on hand to answer your questions.

Students and current clinicians considering research doctoral programs are also encouraged to participate in the GSF/PhD Center to meet with program representatives. It is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the research doctoral education process as well as specifics about individual programs.

Students participating in the virtual experience will move through pre-assigned virtual breakout rooms to interact one-on-one or in small groups with program representatives. The list of CSD programs participating in the GSF/PhD Center will be available online and will be updated frequently.

Students interested in attending can learn more on NSSHLA's website.
