The ASHA Awards Ceremony celebrates high achievement and excellence in the professions. The awards presented, including the Honors of the Association and ASHA Fellows, recognize members who have contributed significantly to the professions and ASHA. The Annie Glenn Award will also be presented to an individual whose work to raise awareness or advocate for those with communication disorders captures the spirit of Mrs. Glenn.
The ASHA Leadership Q&A: A Membership Chat With the Board provides an opportunity for you to meet with the ASHA Board of Directors and staff to learn about organization objectives and initiatives. You are also invited to offer feedback on the direction and activities of the Association.
A variety of audiology-focused events will take place over the three days of the ASHA Convention. These events are a great opportunity to connect with colleagues in the audiology community.
In addition to over 300 exhibiting companies, the Exhibit Hall offers a number of opportunities to network, including a daily lunch break that provides dedicated time to visit exhibitors and socialize. Attend the Exhibitor Showcases, participate in the community service projects, and find ASHA resources or meet ASHA staff and leadership in various themed lounges.
The Graduate School Fair provides an opportunity for students to talk with communication sciences and disorders (CSD) program representatives about graduate or PhD program goals, curricula, clinical experiences, and opportunities for participation in research, among other topics.
Various ASHA Lounges will be located throughout the Exhibit Hall. Plan to stop by the lounges to chat with ASHA staff and volunteer leaders to learn more about ASHA programs and initiatives.
Some ASHA boards, committees, and councils, as well as affiliate groups, hold meetings during the ASHA Convention. A list of published meetings and activities will be available in the Convention Planner and mobile app in November.
The Convention begins with the Opening General Session on Thursday morning, featuring energizing addresses by the ASHA president, Convention co-chairs, and a special keynote speaker.
Receptions provide time for attendees to relax and connect with colleagues and friends.
Follow @ashaweb on Instagram to connect with other attendees during the event. You can also tag your posts with the hashtags #SLPeeps and #AudPeeps to connect with the speech-language pathology and audiology community.
The ASHA Convention isn’t just for seasoned professionals—students can participate in lots of activities, too.
We hold extra function space during the ASHA Convention to support affiliate organizations that would like to host meetings or receptions in conjunction with our event. Learn more about the guidelines and submit a space request for your group.
