Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering at the ASHA Convention is a meaningful way to

  • contribute to the event’s success,
  • support your professional community, and
  • engage more deeply with the people and ideas shaping the communication sciences and disorders professions.

We offer two ways to make a difference at the ASHA Convention:

Opportunity #1: Convention Program Committee

The Convention Program Committee (CPC) is the volunteer member–led group that helps shape the ASHA Convention’s annual education program. CPC members (a) review proposals submitted through the Call for Papers; (b) invite speakers; and (c) help select timely, relevant content that reflects the latest research and key issues across the professions.

The CPC offers several volunteer roles, each with different time commitments and levels of involvement, making it easier to participate in volunteer work that fits your schedule and interests:

Opportunity #2: Student Volunteers

Student volunteers support a variety of onsite roles during the ASHA Convention and, in the process, gain valuable opportunities to connect with peers, engage with ASHA members, and experience the Convention in a more hands-on way.

Learn more about student volunteer roles, eligibility requirements, and how to apply. These onsite opportunities are open to current undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in communication sciences and disorders programs.
