The 2021 ASHA Convention will be a hybrid in-person/virtual event. A tentative list of the official ASHA hotels will be posted in May for planning purposes. Housing reservations will open on August 2.
Both Convention attendees and the association benefit when you book a hotel room through ASHA. Here's how:
If you find a lower rate at a hotel in our block than what we offer, please contact ASHA's official housing provider, Spargo, Inc. (877-585-6005; firstname.lastname@example.org). Customer service hours are 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. (Eastern Time), Monday–Friday.
Sometimes, ASHA is alerted that an unauthorized housing company is contacting our exhibitors or attendees to inform them that they can offer less expensive room rates at hotels in our block. Spargo, Inc. is the only official housing company for ASHA. If you receive a call or e-mail from any company that is not our official housing provider, please contact us immediately at email@example.com.
All official ASHA Convention hotels comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act. If you need an accessible hotel room, please complete the reservation process online and select "Handicap Accessible" at the step where you may indicate room preferences. A representative from ASHA's housing company will contact you to discuss your room arrangements. Members are also welcome to contact Customer Service ( firstname.lastname@example.org; 877-585-6005 or 703-449-6418) if they wish to discuss their needs with someone directly. Read about accessibility at ASHA's live events for more information about reasonable requests for accommodations.
The ASHA Convention will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Mt. Vernon Place NW, Washington, DC 20001.
The Washington, DC metro area is served by three airports, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI). ASHA does not provide airport ground transportation.
Union Station in Washington, DC is serviced by Amtrak, Maryland Rail Commuter Service (MARC) and Virginia Railway Express (VRE), as well as the Washington Metro subway and bus system. The Convention Center can be reached by the Mount Vernon Square station on the Yellow and Green lines of the Metro.
For those arriving by car, paid parking is available in several lots and garages within blocks of the Convention Center.
Complimentary shuttle service will be provided November 17–20 for attendees staying at ASHA hotels not within close proximity of the convention center. ADA-accessible shuttle service equipped with a wheelchair lift will be available for all ASHA hotels and any official ASHA event (i.e., ASHFoundation Fundraiser, ASHA PAC Reception, Closing Party) for attendees with mobility issues. Those who use scooters can typically take advantage of the regular shuttle service; shuttle staff will help stow scooters. ASHA does not provide airport ground transportation.
