Program Planner

The Program Planner and ASHA Convention mobile app serve as our official program. For questions about the Program Planner, mobile app, or ASHA Convention program sessions, email us at papers@asha.org.

Program Planner

The Program Planner is a web-based search and scheduling tool. Use it to preview all of the sessions—both in-person and virtual—offered at the ASHA Convention, browse exhibitor profiles, and build a personal schedule of sessions you want to attend.

ASHA Convention Mobile App

The ASHA Convention mobile app is available in the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) to download to your phone or tablet. The mobile app also lists all sessions and exhibitor profiles, but has many additional features to help with your experience onsite at the ASHA Convention.

Not Seeing the 2024 App?

If you already have the mobile app installed on your phone or tablet, touch the "Exit to Event List"  button on the home screen. If you installed the app on your device prior to 2023, you will need to go to Settings > Exit to App List. You will then be able to download the current version of the app from the list of events.

Log In to Create Your Personal Schedule

You may browse the Program Planner and app without signing in, but you will need to log in with your www.asha.org username and password if you want to save sessions or exhibitors to your schedule.

Note: If your asha.org password contains special characters, such as ampersands, you may encounter issues logging into the Program Planner and mobile app. Please try resetting your asha.org password on the ASHA website without any special characters if you have trouble logging in.

How To Use the Program Planner and App to Find Sessions

Use any of the following filters under Sessions in the left menu area to customize your search:

  • Instructional Level (Introductory, Intermediate, Advanced)
  • Session Focus (Professional Education or Research)
  • Special Session Designation (i.e., Meritorious Poster, Visionary Series, Invited Presenter, etc.)
  • Audience (i.e., Researchers, Students, Assistants, etc.)

Or, use the search bar in the upper right to quickly locate a session by title, session code, or keyword. Then, filter your results by day using the tabs across the top. Additional filter options in the left menu allow you to find authors or exhibitors, and you can also view the Exhibit Hall floor plan to see where companies will be located.

*Be sure to note the location of sessions and activities listed in the planner and app. ASHA will be using the entire Seattle Convention Center, so sessions will be located in both the Arch and Summit buildings, which are NOT connected. Some activites will also take place in our Co-Leadership hotels, the Hyatt Regency Seattle and the Sheraton Grand Seattle.

View Session Details

Select the title of a session in your search results to read the description of the session, review author bios and disclosure information, view the learner outcomes, and review any materials uploaded by presenters.

Create a Personal Schedule

To save sessions to your schedule, use your www.asha.org username and password to log into the planner or app, then select the black calendar icon that appears next to the session title to add it to your schedule. The Program Planner and the mobile app sync, so if you save sessions to your schedule in the planner, they will also appear in the app if you are signed in, and vice versa.

Handouts and Session Materials

Presenters of oral seminars are asked to provide handouts, such as a session outline, agenda, or reference list, in advance of their presentation. To view session materials, search for a session within the Planner or app, then select the title to open the full session details. If presenters shared their handouts or presentation materials, you will see links at the bottom of the session detail screen in the Program Planner, or a "Handouts" tab in the session details screen in the app.

Special Session Designations

When searching the program with the Program Planner or mobile app, use the filters to see lists of these special sessions.

Invited Presenter Sessions

Some sessions feature presenters who have been specially invited to present on a topic by the Convention Program Committee or a Special Interest Group (SIG). Some Invited Presenter Sessions are a collaborative effort and are jointly developed by a combination of those entities. SIG affiliates may be particularly interested in SIG-sponsored sessions.

The presenters of these sessions hold expertise on the topic or subject area of the session. Sessions featuring invited presenters are noted in the session descriptions. One-hour Oral Seminars featuring invited presenters are included with your registration and everyone is welcome to attend them. All 2-hour Short Courses feature invited presenters and are ticketed with an additional fee.

Meritorious Posters

The Convention Program Committee selects Meritorious Posters, a special designation for proposals they have judged to be exceptional during their review process.

Visionary Series

The Visionary Session series, selected by the Convention Program Committee, focuses on transformative research or clinical work that has dramatically elevated the practices or future research, contributing to new best practices, new evidence, or reframing the thought paradigms of the professions. These innovative practices or research demonstrate the potential to make an important or significant positive increase in outcomes based on strong evidence at the patient, system, or discipline level.

DEI, Ethics, and Supervision Credits

Plan ahead to meet DEI, Ethics, and Supervision certification requirements. Sessions that count towards one or more certification requirement will be flagged in the Program Planner and mobile app by September 3. Then, you may use the ASHA Certification Requirement filters to locate sessions that count toward the ASHA certification maintenance requirements for DEI, Ethics and Supervision.

When reporting the sessions you attend in the online reporting system, you must manually self-report your participation in sessions that focus on these three topics on your certification maintenance compliance form; this process is not automatic. The self-reported sessions/credits will be marked on your event report. Learn more about these credit types.

Program Archives

You may view the Program Planners from past ASHA Conventions in the Archives section at the bottom of the About the Convention webpage. To view the apps from past years, go to Settings in the current app, then select Exit to App list and select the year you would like to download.
