ASHA lounges and booths in the Exhibit Hall provide an opportunity for you to discover resources, chat with ASHA staff and volunteer leaders about programs and initiatives or meet colleagues who share your interests.

ASHA Academic-Research-International Programs

  • Faculty-Researcher Lounge
    Connect with other faculty and researchers, learn about CSD Education Survey data, and get answers to your questions about academic and clinical education issues. Explore funding and training opportunities offered through award, mentoring, and research education programs. Learn about ASHA’s resources to advance interprofessional education/interprofessional collaborative practice (IPE/IPP) and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
  • Council on Academic Accreditation
    Stop by to consult with the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) members and Accreditation staff, or share your questions about the Standards for Accreditation and accreditation processes with us. Find out more about the candidacy process for developing programs. Learn about submitting CAA reports in the online system, preparing for a site visit, interpretation and expectations of the Standards, recent process changes, how to become a site visitor, and more.
  • International Programs
    Everyone is invited to stop by to learn about ASHA's international programs! Find out more about the International Affiliates program and new modifications to eligibility; ASHA's international initiatives and programs; ASHA's collaboration with the World Health Organization and, in particular, with the Pan American Health Organization; and how joining Special Interest Group 17 (Global Issues in Communication Sciences and Related Disorders) can extend your learning help you connect with other members who have an interest in international issues.     ASHA Advocacy and PAC

    Stop by and learn about ASHA's advocacy priorities and how to make an impact! Get answers to questions about reimbursement, licensure, and other policy matters. Learn about the PAC and its critical support for our advocacy efforts.

    ASHA Audiology Practices

    Stop by the Audiology Square to meet up with colleagues. The ASHA Audiology staff team will be available to chat and answer your questions or you can recharge with a snack and recharge your devices, too. The Audiology Square will be near audiology session locations.

    ASHA Certification

    The ASHA Certification Lounge is the place to learn more about the certification process, the current certification standards, certification maintenance, as well as any upcoming changes. In the Certification Lounge, you will also be able to learn more about Clinical Specialty Certification and the Assistants Certification Program from staff and members of the Council for Clinical Certification.

    ASHA Continuing Education

    We’re ASHA Continuing Education, ASHA CE for short, and we’re here to help with your continuing education needs! Whether you want to find courses using the new and improved CEFind, earn ASHA Continuing Education Units (ASHA CEUs), organize and secure your course records, or seamlessly maintain your ASHA certification and state licensure, we’ve got you covered. CE team members will be there to help you with your questions.

    ASHA Office of Multicultural Affairs

    ASHA’s Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) addresses the influence of cultural and linguistic diversity as it relates to professional preparation and service delivery in audiology and speech-language pathology. The Multicultural Affairs Square provides the opportunity to explore ASHA resources related to culturally responsive practice and learn more about how to get involved in furthering DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) efforts in our professions and across the discipline.

    ASHA Public Relations

    We welcome you to visit the ASHA Public Relations Lounge, where you can learn about ASHA’s public education campaigns; the new developmental milestones for communication and feeding and swallowing; the renaming of Better Hearing and Speech Month; and much more. Get a free digital photo of yourself; take a fun selfie (or a few, with colleagues and friends); and/or lend your expertise and insights to ASHA PR staff on-camera, which may be used in future association videos.       Practice Portal

      The Practice Portal provides peer-reviewed resources to busy audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and assistants with clinical decision making. Visit the Practice Portal to take a break, recharge, and learn about our new and recently updated topics to ignite your clinical practice.

      Special Interest Groups in the ASHA Member Services Center

      ASHA's Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide communities centered around areas of professional practice within the discipline of communication sciences and disorders. Stop by the SIG booth and learn how the SIGs create a dedicated space for ASHA and NSSLHA members to explore their specific interests, share focused resources, and network and collaborate with colleagues.

      The SIGs are sponsoring educational sessions and holding social events during the ASHA Convention that can help you find a new professional interest, dive deeper into your chosen focus areas, and build your professional network.

      Specialty Certification Boards

      Interested in obtaining an ASHA-recognized specialty certification? Clinical Specialty Certification enables an audiologist or a speech-language pathologist with advanced knowledge, skills, and experience beyond the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) to be formally identified as a Board Certified Specialist (BCS) in a specific area of clinical practice. Stop by the Specialty Certification Lounge to learn more about becoming a Board Certified Specialist in Intraoperative Monitoring (BCS-IOM), Child Language (BCS-CL), Fluency and Fluency Disorders (BCS-F), or Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (BCS-S).

      The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for members and affiliates who are audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language, and hearing scientists; audiology and speech-language pathology assistants; and students.

      About the Convention

      The ASHA Convention is one of the largest professional development events for audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language, and hearing scientists; and speech-language pathology and audiology assistants. Bringing together approximately 15,000 attendees, the annual Convention offers more than 2,500 sessions eligible for ASHA continuing education credit covering the latest research, clinical skills, and techniques in communication sciences and disorders.
