A number of social events provide time for attendees to relax and connect with colleagues and friends. From the Welcome Reception in the Exhibit Hall to networking meet-ups for specialty groups, there are many ways to add some fun to your professional development at the ASHA Convention.

First-Timers' Welcome5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, Ballroom East
Is this your first ASHA Convention? Come to this popular gathering to get an overview of our annual event and to preview programs and activities slated for the next three days. You'll have an opportunity to meet the ASHA president and Convention co-chairs, as well as other ASHA staff and volunteer representatives who can provide answers and guidance for your first ASHA Convention. The First-Timers' Welcome is also a great opportunity to connect with others attending for the first time. Enjoy light refreshments.
ASHA-PAC Reception (Ticketed)5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.MJ O'Connor's at the Westin Boston Waterfront
All ASHA members are invited to spend the evening with the ASHA-PAC Board. This special event benefits the ASHA Political Action Committee, which serves as the political voice of the audiology and speech-language pathology professions on Capitol Hill. Tickets are available through registration only to ASHA members for a $60* contribution or may be purchased (as available) at the door. Cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served.
*All new ASHA-PAC contributors who attend the event only pay $30 at the door!
ASHA Public Relations Reception5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, North Lobby (Level 1)
Take the opportunity to mingle with colleagues and ASHA Public Relations (PR) staff to learn about how ASHA PR is working for you at our reception on Thursday evening. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Join us in the Exhibit Hall to catch up with friends and colleagues and mingle with exhibitors. This reception provides dedicated time to check out the exhibiting companies, socialize, and network, all while recharging your battery with light snacks and a cash bar before you head to the Twilight Sessions. The Welcome Reception is open to all fully registered attendees; guest tickets are available so friends and family can join the fun.
ASHFoundation Fundraiser Reception (Ticketed)7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.Fenway Park, Boston
Experience the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation's own field of dreams in the iconic setting of Boston's Fenway Park! In operation since the early 1900s, Fenway Park is the oldest ballpark in Major League baseball, on the National Register of Historic Places, and one of the most well-known sports venues in the world. Guests will enjoy an extraordinary after hours event exclusive to our professional community with delicious food, drink, entertainment, and friendship in celebration of the ASHFoundation's mission. This ticketed event is a team tribute to the ASHFoundation's support of innovators—our "superstars"—who are changing lives. Step up to the plate, reserve your tickets, and help us hit a home run for our fundraising!
Tickets are $125 per person (nonrefundable) and may be purchased through Registration. Proceeds for the ASHFoundation Fundraiser Reception, traditionally held at a unique and elegant location in our host city, support research and scholarship programs.

ASHA, in partnership with the Boston audiology community, is excited to host this unique gathering of audiologists and audiology students! This special open house will follow the ASHA Awards Ceremony. Stop by to network with your colleagues and enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres and limited free drinks. It's the largest event for audiologists at the 2018 ASHA Convention!

A number of colleges and universities, and affiliated organizations, traditionally hold open houses following the Awards Ceremony on Friday evening. The schedule and locations of the open houses will be available in October.

The ASHA Convention concludes with a party at the New England Aquarium where you can relax and celebrate another great year with friends and colleagues. Enjoy light fare and a cocktail while you stroll through the aquarium and learn about sea creatures and their underwater ecosystems. Tickets may be purchased through Registration as supplies last—the Closing Party is a popular event! Limited shuttle service will be available to make travel back to hotels convenient.
