Visit the ASHA Public Relations Lounge to have your photo taken by a professional photographer and to select a headline that best represents you. After the Convention, you'll receive an edited, finalized ad for your personal and professional use. Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of ASHA's Office of Multicultural Affairs! 

This year marks the 50th anniversary of ASHA's Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA). In addition, ASHA’s Minority Student Leadership Program (MSLP) celebrates its 20th year, and the Student to Empowered Professional (S.T.E.P.) program commemorates 15 years. We welcome everyone to attend the Multicultural Concerns Collective (MC2) anniversary celebration event on Thursday evening, November 21, from 8:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. MC2 brings together ASHA members from the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing (NBASLH) and the Hispanic, Asian Pacific Islander, Asian Indian, Native American, and LGASP-GLBT Caucuses, and those interested and involved in serving under-represented populations.

As we celebrate OMA's 50th anniversary, ASHA continues to address access, equity, and inclusion in communication sciences and disorders across a variety of dimensions of diversity, including race and ethnicity. For years, ASHA has looked for innovative and constructive ways to engage in conversations about race and identity. Ijeoma Oluo, author of So You Want to Talk About Race, will provide attendees with candid and practical insight in response to common questions related to race. Copies of her book will be available for purchase, and the author will be available for a book signing following the presentation.
