GENERAL INFORMATION AND POLICIES A–Z • 17 It is the responsibility of attendees to follow up with the convention center to retrieve lost items. To inquire about a lost item after the ASHA Convention, please contact the BCEC Command Center at 617-954-2222. The convention center’s online form (available at www.signatureboston. com/attend/lost-and-found) allows you to file a report and receive a case ID for any lost items. Per BCEC’s Lost and Found policy, found items that go unclaimed with no obvious monetary or sentimental value will be held for 14 days. Property of an estimated value up to $250 with no obvious sentimental value will be held for 60 days. Property of an estimated value of over $250, or with obvious sentimental value, will be kept for 1 year. If item(s) are not retrieved within these time frames, the item(s) will be purged from the convention center’s property storage. Lounges A number of designated lounge spaces for groups to gather and rest in between sessions are located throughout the Convention Center. These spaces are available for you to recharge and connect with colleagues and friends who share similar interests. See page 12 for more details. Personal Security and Responsibility For your safety and security, the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center operates a state-of-the-art Command Center prepared to engage in emergency response procedures should a situation arise. For any emergencies, building security can be reached on any house phone by dialing ext. 2222. You can also contact the Convention Center’s 24-hour Security team, for any reason, from any telephone at 617-954-2222. Due to the size of the Convention Center, we discourage dialing 911 directly to ensure that our first responders are given detailed and accurate location information. Your safety outside the Convention Center is also important, so please follow these general tips during your stay in Boston: • Answer your hotel room door only when you can identify the person knocking. • Do not wear your meeting badge outside Convention functions or on the street. • Walk in groups when you are outside the Convention Center or your hotel. • Always let someone know where you are going when you leave the hotel or Convention Center.
