GENERAL INFORMATION AND POLICIES A–Z • 15 General Information and Policies A–Z Accessibility for Registrants With Disabilities ASHA is committed to making the Convention accessible to all and ensuring compliance with the ADA. Attendees who have a disability and who need accommodations in order to participate to the fullest extent possible at the ASHA Convention—and who did not make prior arrangements—should visit Registration for assistance. On-site requests will be accommodated to the best of our ability; however, available resources may be limited. ASHA Member Services Center CC, Hall A The ASHA Member Services Center is available to help you with all of the information and services that ASHA provides. ASHA staff in the Member Services Center can assist with all of your ASHA membership needs and can also help you with questions about the Exhibit Hall. Business Center The FedEx Office Print & Ship Center in Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (Level 1, North Lobby) offers everything you need to meet your office needs from packing and shipping to signs, banners, office supplies, and copying and printing services. The business center is open 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. weekdays and on weekends during event hours. Cameras and Photography Policy Limited use of cameras is allowed for exhibitors in their own booth areas. Photography, video production, and/ or graphic reproduction of other exhibitors’ booths and products displayed therein are prohibited unless authorization is obtained from the exhibitor. Commercial use of photographs of attendees by exhibitors is prohibited unless written consent is given by the attendee. Personal photography is permitted at social functions. Please see the Recording Policy for additional information on situations where photography is restricted or limited. Cell Phones Cell phones should always be in silent mode during sessions, meetings, and events to avoid disruption. Talking on cell phones is strictly prohibited during all education sessions and other nonsocial events at the ASHA Convention. Recording and photography are prohibited during sessions and events without explicit prior consent from the presenter. Charging Stations Charging stations for mobile devices are available near Registration. Some may charge a small fee for usage. Please be mindful of sharing the charging stations. Do not leave your devices unattended; ASHA is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. Children The ASHA Convention is a professional development event and is not intended to be inclusive of children. Due to safety and liability issues, children under age 18 are not permitted in the Exhibit Hall, and strollers are not permitted in the Exhibit Hall or in session rooms. Due to space limitations and the potential for disruption in session rooms, as well as safety issues should overcrowding occur, the presence of children in education sessions is discouraged. ASHA does not provide child care services. Your hotel concierge may be able to provide information about on-site child care services or other local options for child care. See the Personal Consideration Rooms section for information for nursing mothers. Code of Conduct ASHA expects Convention attendees to respect each other, student volunteers, exhibitors, Convention Center staff, and ASHA staff, and to behave in a courteous and civilized fashion. Attendees should respect common sense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, and respect for private property. Abusive, harassing, or threatening behavior directed toward any other attendee—or any student volunteer, ASHA staff, or Convention Center staff—will not be tolerated. Please report any incidents in which a meeting attendee is abusive, insulting, intimidating, bothersome, or acting in an unsafe or illegal manner to ASHA staff or Convention Center Security immediately.
