The ASHA Convention Virtual Library is our online platform that will provide access to over 1,700 pre-recorded education sessions, plus approximately 1,000 live, virtual poster Q&A sessions, as well as interactive exhibitor profiles. All sessions in the Virtual Library are new, selected by the 2021 Convention Program Committee, and are eligible for continuing education credit. The Virtual Library will be open over an extended 8-day period, from November 15–22, allowing you to learn and explore the exhibitor profiles on your own schedule.
Register for either the full, in-person ASHA Convention in Washington, D.C., which includes access to the Virtual Library, or register at a discounted rate to gain access just to the Virtual Library. (View registration fees or register now .)
The Virtual Library website will launch publicly on November 2 so you may familiarize yourself with the platform. Beginning November 15, registrants may access sessions by signing into the Virtual Library platform with the email they used to register and their registration confirmation number. Sessions will be available to watch in the Virtual Library from November 15–22.
In the Virtual Library, you will find pre-recorded sessions in a variety of formats:
Each poster presentation pairs a 15-minute pre-recorded presentation and digital poster with a corresponding 15-minute live, virtual Q&A session that allows you to interact with presenters and other participants in real time. The poster Q&A sessions will take place on Thursday, November 18 and Friday, November 19. Presenters will be scheduled to be available in 90-minute time blocks. You may log in any time during the scheduled time block but you must participate for 15 minutes to claim continuing education credit.
(Please note: In-person sessions taking place at the ASHA Convention in Washington, D.C. will NOT be recorded or live-streamed for the Virtual Library.)
You can preview the sessions that will be offered in the Virtual Library using the Program Planner online search tool. The Program Planner will allow you to filter by virtual formats only, and all virtual sessions have a 5-digit session code ending in V or L (vs. a 4-digit code for in-person sessions).
Session codes for pre-recorded poster presentations and their corresponding live, virtual Q&A sessions will begin with the same four digits to help you find the pairing. The session codes for the pre-recorded poster presentations end in V, and the live Q&A sessions end in L.
All sessions in the ASHA Convention Virtual Library are eligible for ASHA Continuing Education Credit or Professional Development Hours. With over 1,700 pre-recorded sessions, plus approximately 1000 live, virtual poster Q&A sessions, the Virtual Library offers more online content than it is realistically possible to consume in 8 days. Since you may watch sessions on your own schedule, how much continuing education credit you earn will depend on your time investment. For example, if you spend 2 hours a day watching sessions, you can earn 1.6 ASHA CEUs or 16 PDHs over the 8-day period that the library is open.
On Thursday, November 18 and Friday, November 19, you can earn up to an additional 1.95 ASHA CEUs or 19.5 PDHs just by participating in each of the live, virtual poster Q&A sessions, which allow you to interact in real-time with poster presenters and other registrants. Each poster Q&A session is worth 15 minutes of continuing education credit.
