Can't join us in person? |
New this year, we are ending the 2024 ASHA Convention with a Closing General Session! Gather for the last session of the day on Saturday to recap the best moments of this year’s event with the Convention Co-Chairs. They will then welcome a special keynote speaker to leave you newly inspired as you return home after three days of learning and connecting. Closing out the journey will be a special kick off for ASHA’s 100th Anniversary in 2025.
Our keynote speaker, Justin Osmond, is a member of the famous musical Osmond Family, but was born with severe to profound hearing loss. He underwent 12 years of intense speech/listening therapy for his significant hearing loss and, despite a lack of support for his efforts, went on to play the violin, viola, piano, and drums, and speak with passion. He earned numerous awards and scholarships in academics and athletics and went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration.
Justin’s desire to help others led him to launch the Olive Osmond Hearing Fund, which brings music to individuals living with hearing loss worldwide. He has spent over 18 years traveling the world helping the deaf and hard-of hearing in underdeveloped countries as well as throughout the United States. Recently, he challenged himself to an "impossible" feat of running 250 miles in just 7 days in honor of his grandmother Olive, to raise awareness and funds for hearing devices for 25 deaf children.
Justin lives every day by his personal motto, “I may have a hearing loss, but that hearing loss does not have me.” Nothing gets him down and he loves inspiring others to go after what they want in life, demonstrating that NOTHING is impossible. Join us on Saturday afternoon for the final event of the 2024 ASHA Convention and hear Justin’s story of hope and perseverance!
Tickets are not required for the Opening General Session, Awards Ceremony, or Closing General Session. Seating is offered on a first-come, first-served basis to full Convention registrants and one-day registrants, as applicable.
